Dog Training Style

The human/dog relationship is remarkable and unique. It can be loving and rewarding or stressful and frustrating. The key to a successful human/dog relationship is knowing how to communicate effectively with your dog and lead them in a balanced life. It's creating the structure, expectations, and rules that your dog needs to navigate through our world, while maintaining his/her true nature. Whether you need help in selecting the right dog for you, getting proper balance with your current companion, or simply correcting unwanted behaviors, I would love to help!

“I never thought my dogs wouldn’t pull hard on their leashes, but Jamie made that dream a reality in a couple of sessions!”

In-Home Dog Training and/or Behavior Modification Packages

$280 for 3 sessions

(first session - 1.5 hours, 1 hour each additional session)

$425 for 5 sessions

(first session - 1.5 hours, 1 hour each additional session)

In-home dog training is one of the most beneficial ways to teach your dog because the dog is in his/her typical environment where the unwanted behavior can often occur. Working in other locations (ex: neighborhood, park, etc) are also very effective for distractions and teaching proper leash-walking. Feel free to contact me via text or email (below) to see if I would be a good fit for you.

Home School For Dogs

$425 per week (5 sessions)

In this package I will come to your home Monday through Friday and work with your dog for one hour each day. The first lesson (on Monday) will be 1.5 hours and I will meet with you (the owner) for the first 30ish minutes and then work with your dog for the last hour. Then on Friday I will meet with you and go over all the things I worked on with your dog through the week. You do not need to be home the times I come Tuesday-Thursday, but you may be home if you like.  This option is very nice for working dog owners or those who have a hard time putting in the time for training. Usually more than one week is needed to get wanted results.  Feel free to contact me via text or email (below) to see if I would be a good fit for you.

Puppy/Dog Selection Package

$280 for 3 sessions

(3 sessions to help you know how to find and select the right dog for you)

Selecting a dog that is the right fit for you and your family is critical to having a successful relationship. I will take into consideration the energy level of your family and the dog and the qualities you want in a dog. I am able to determine temperament and energy level in dogs at a fairly young age. I would strongly encourage purchasing an in-home or home school training package after getting your dog. Feel free to contact me via text or email (below) to see if I would be a good fit for you.

Cash, check, Zelle, and Venmo (extra service fee with Venmo) are accepted forms of payment.

Meet the Trainer

Jamie Burns, IACP-CDT

Hello, my name is Jamie. I am a certified dog trainer through the International Association of Canine Professionals ( I am also an AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Evaluator. I am a balanced dog trainer which means I use the techniques and tools that work for each individual dog and owner to help their dog become emotionally and physically balanced. I use a mixture of structure, discipline (always humane corrections), clear guidance, body language, energy, and praise. I'm passionate about helping you decrease stress and increase happiness between you and your dog.

Many owners have great intentions and expend significant effort to train their pet, yet lack the knowledge and skills to achieve the dog/human relationship they desire.

Whether teaching obedience or helping overcome behavioral issues, I can help you fulfill your dog's needs. Using balanced leadership (rules, discipline, boundaries, exercise and praise) I will help you achieve the harmonious dog/human relationship you desire.
